SIGNATURE LAURENTIDES - SELECTED WORKS

Montreal, March 5, 2009 - The Canadian Guild of Crafts launched last Fall a call for proposals in Fine Crafts throughout the greater Laurentian region. Fifteen professional artisans from the “Signature Laurentides” group were selected, with the objective of presenting an exhibition that unveils their originality and their virtuosity.

This exhibition brings together artworks in ceramics, textiles, woodwork, jewellery, stained glass, and metal. Sculptural jewellery, the sinuous curves of fine art furniture, flamboyant felt hats… these are but a few of the latest seen creations you will be sure to enjoy. Composed of both established and emerging artists, the group’s members have in common an attentiveness to quality, a command of their craft, and inexhaustible creativity!

We invite you to discover these makers who work in the common objective of creating work that reveals excellence in Fine Crafts from the Laurentian region.

Geneviève Beaulieu, Thomas Bec, Dominic Dufour, Diane Gonthier, Louise Julien, Julie Labelle, Félix Lapierre, Louis-Georges L’Écuyer, Tammy Osler, Mathieu Patoine, Élaine Saucier, Anne Simard, Paul Simard et Claudine Thibault.

Signature Laurentides is based in Val-David and includes approximately fifty members. As is evident from the quality of their creations, this group of artists embodies authenticity and originality.
